Welcome to Family and Community Partnerships

The success of Head Start evolves from nurturing strong partnerships with its families and communities. Family and Community Partnerships is designed to inform, provide strategies, and support the Head Start and early childhood communities in their continued commitment to build strong and supportive relationships.

Parent Involvement

Find information and strategies that promote increased parent involvement among a diverse community of caretakers.

“Children’s accomplishments depend less on material and educational advantages and more on the amount of experiences children accumulate with parents…” – Hart & Risley, 1995.

Family Literacy

Find the federal definition of family literacy in this section. Explore information about the four components of family literacy. Head Start on Picturing America is also in this section.

Health & Wellness
