Family Screening and Observation Tools
Tools to Strengthen Families and Communities

Family screening and observation tools were designed to assist family advocates in carrying out an early, quick assessment of high-risk circumstances during a home visit. Family service staff and supervisors will find these tools particularly useful when working with families enrolled in programs that have a home visiting component. Because agencies often have a limited time to work with families, these tools provide front-line family workers with concrete guides to engaging families in conversation about high-risk family dynamics and home environments.
