What do the fathers in your community want to contribute to their child's life and what are their dreams and desires for their child? Many studies conclude that children with highly involved fathers, in relation to children with less involved fathers, tend to be more cognitively and socially competent. Father involvement coordinators, parent involvement specialists, and other staff members who work with families can find this guidebook and video useful in identifying goals of fathers in their communities, along with evaluating program effectiveness and making the appropriate changes.
