Building A Foundation To Work with Fathers
Building Blocks for Father Involvement

Abstract

Many mature Head Start programs have creatively overcome barriers to involving fathers in their young children's lives. Father involvement coordinators, parent involvement specialists, and other staff members who work with families will find this guidebook useful when planning fatherhood involvement strategies for their programs. Many studies conclude that children with highly involved fathers, in relation to children with less involved fathers, tend to be more cognitively and socially competent.
