Safety Tips for Sleeping Babies
 

Parents and Caregivers should create a safe environment for children while they sleep. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission shares tips for sleeping babies in English and Spanish to prevent injuries to babies while they sleep. This resouce also seeks to prevent the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

If your baby is under 12 months old, you can help prevent SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), suffocation, and strangulation by following these three tips:

  1. Place your baby to sleep on his or her back.
  2. Remove all soft bedding from the crib.
