To promote smoke-free homes and cars, the Office of Head Start (OHS) has joined the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in its "Care for Their Air" campaign (www.epa.gov/smokefree). This campaign encourages Head Start teachers, staff, and parents to eliminate and reduce children’s exposure to secondhand smoke. As a result, families can help children avoid serious health risks from breathing secondhand smoke, including frequent and severe asthma attacks, colds, and ear infections. To encourage providing smoke-free homes and cars, the OHS would like Head Start parents to share their stories.
