Colleen Mendel

As Executive Director of Training and Technical Assistance Services, Colleen B. Mendel oversees the Head Start and Human Services Consulting Group, which includes: Western Kentucky University Head Start, Early Head Start, and child care programs; a ten-county child care resource and referral agency; the Florida Office of Early Learning Quality Initiative; and several smaller contracts and projects. Her training and consulting experience includes program governance, wage comparability and salary administration, and human resources. Ms. Mendel contributed to the efforts of the National Head Start Association and the National Community Action Partnership to develop their quality initiatives, and as a member of the National Head Start Fiscal Work Group, provided input for the revision and redesign of the Head Start Fiscal Checklist. She holds master’s degrees in Business Administration, Higher Education, Spanish, as well as a certificate in nonprofit management from Duke University.
