INFORMATION MEMORANDUM
TO: Head Start Grantee and Delegate Agencies
SUBJECT: National Infant Immunization Week
INFORMATION: The Head Start Bureau, along with many other federal, state, and local public and private organizations, is working with the National Immunization Program (NIP) in support of the Presidential proclamation declaring the last week of April as National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW). This year, NIIW will be observed April 20-26, 1997.
Enclosed you will find a promotional kit developed by the NIP that contains many useful ideas on promoting NIIW in your community. I urge you to take the time to review the materials, to share them with your co-workers, and to reach out to your contacts in the community to begin a dialogue about how best to observe NIIW in your community.
