SUBJECT: 2001 National Conference for New Directors

INFORMATION:

The Head Start Bureau is pleased to invite new Head Start and Early Head Start Directors to the 2001 National Conference for New Directors. This conference will be held in Washington, D.C. from February 26 - March 1, 2001. There will be an optional half day session on March 2 focusing on Head Start and technology.

The purpose of the conference is to provide a national orientation for new directors. The target audience is Head Start and Early Head Start grantee and delegate agency directors who have been in their present position less than two years. The conference is designed for the individuals who have lead responsibility for program leadership and management. If you are a new director, and have not yet received conference registration material, please contact the conference contractor as soon as possible.

Hotel reservations must be made by January 26, 2001. This is extremely important, as the conference rate will not be available after the cut-off date and rooms may not be available. The conference registration is due by February 2, 2001. I encourage all new directors to attend this conference.
