Transportation PathFinder is a new web resource located within the Early Childhood Learning and Knowledge Center
designed to provide laws, regulations, guidance, and resources to improve the quality of early childhood
transportation services. This resource will assist Head Start and Early Head Start agencies and their transportation
providers to comply with transportation safety requirements.

State information is a particular feature of this resource. Available are links to each State Director of Pupil
Transportation, other transportation providers within the state, and selected state laws and regulations. These
links are maintained and updated on a weekly basis to ensure that the information is always up-to-date.

Transportation PathFinder provides a unique training tool that allows users to respond to scenarios involving
everyday situations and issues to problem-solve potential responses and provide the foundation for program
policies and procedures. Examples include what to do when a child is left behind on a bus, how to respond to
bathroom needs, and addressing staffing issues. These scenarios are designed so that a transportation team can
review the situation from all perspectives and put in place a procedure or process before a problem arises.
