Interactive Tool for Parents: Milestones Checklist

Abstract

Recognizing typical milestones for child development is a way to ensure a child is experiencing growth or challenges. This tool offers clear and easy indicators for parents and staff to consider in assessing a child. It offers a practical and interactive means for looking at milestones for children, ages birth to five.

The following interactive tool is provided courtesy of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Interactive Tool for Parents: Milestones Checklist

Children develop at their own pace, so it's impossible to tell exactly when yours will learn a given skill. The developmental milestones below will give you a general idea of the changes you can expect as your child gets older, but don't be alarmed if your child takes a slightly different course.

Select the age of your child and fill out an interactive milestones checklist. It's a great way to record the milestones your child is reaching for a baby book or as a way to share your child's development with the doctor or nurse at the next checkup. More>>
