Abstract

Head Start programs are responsible for designating disabilities coordinators and designing disabilities service plans. Section 45 CFR 1308.4(e) of the Head Start Program Performance Standards and its accompanying guidance describe these responsibilities for administrators and staff.

Subpart B_Disabilities Service Plan

Sec. 1308.4 Purpose and scope of disabilities service plan.

The Disabilities Coordinator

(e) The grantee or delegate agency must designate a coordinator of services for children with disabilities (disabilities coordinator) and arrange for preparation of the disabilities service plan and of the grantee application budget line items for services for children with disabilities. The grantee or delegate must ensure that all relevant coordinators, other staff and parents are consulted.
