Role play exercises of home visits involving families with high-risk behaviors replicate real work scenarios and involve a cycle of practice, feedback, discussion and practice again. Family service supervisors and family workers will build their skills and confidence by using these role play exercises to simulate how they may interact with and support families living in a variety of high-risk situations. Role plays contribute to constructive staff development by placing an emphasis on training followed by practice and coaching.
