Education managers, program directors, and professional development providers may gain a deeper understanding of science process skills and how to recognize these skills in children ages birth through five years old. Staff may use the script as a resource to develop training materials that address three main ideas: (1) fundamental science skills are present even in infants; (2) science skills develop during the first five years of life and beyond; and (3) there are many ways that parents and adults can foster the development of science skills and scientific understanding.
