Grant and Funding Notices

Head Start grants are awarded directly to local public agencies, private non-profit and for-profit organizations, Indian Tribes and school systems by ACF Regional Offices, the Office of Head Start’s American Indian-Alaska Native, and Migrant and Seasonal Program Branches for the purpose of operating Head Start programs at the community level.

Grants.gov is the website used to submit grant applications electronically. Submitting an application electronically is optional. If your organization has not submitted an application through Grants.gov before, be aware that it may take up to a full week to complete the set-up.

  • Interim Program Management (www.cdiheadstart.org) is administered by Community Development Institute – Head Start, which assumes responsibility for Head Start/ Early Head Start program operations when the local grantee can no longer operate the program, providing uninterrupted, quality Head Start and Early Head Start services and addressing program health and safety issues to grantee programs who are no longer viable.
