For the Next Generation: Stories as Roots and Wings |

Dovie Thomason, of the Lakota and Plains Apache Nations, tells traditional stories from the diverse First Nations of North America. The characters in these stories, animals, heroes, and tricksters, encounter situations and face choices that many adults (parents as well as early childhood professionals) and children struggle with on a daily basis. The stories highlight the traditional values and beliefs held by the Native peoples. Program staff, education coordinators, trainers, and parents will find this information useful in their daily work with young children.
