In this webcast, Barbara Mainster, Executive Director of the Redlands Christian Migrant Association in Immokalee, Florida, discusses the importance of cultural competence, understanding the various cultures and traditions of the children and families served in Head Start and other early childhood programs. Barbara also offers practical advice on how to connect with families by highlighting her own experiences as a long-standing member of the early childhood community. Teachers, home visitors, and caregivers will be introduced to the possibilities and benefits available in their roles as family partners.
