Research has stressed the importance of certain skills such as the alphabetic principle to influence early literacy. This webcast is designed to help Head Start teachers understand the importance of creating a classroom environment that utilizes the alphabetic principle throughout the day in ways that create joy and excitement. Teachers will learn how to help children build their knowledge of the alphabetic code and are urged to remember that this is just one piece of the complex puzzle called "learning to read."
