Supporting Children’s Early Writing
With a strong foundation, children will initiate their own writing. There are many strategies that help infants and toddlers develop their pre-writing skills such as helping infants manipulate play and move their fingers, as well as ways to help toddlers develop a positive attitude about writing. The TVI panel discusses the Head Start Outcome Indicators of pre-school writing development and strategies for modeling writing and including writing throughout the classroom.
