The key to carrying out a successful neighborhood revitalization project is building a partnership of community development organizations and connecting with the neighborhood residents to gain their trusts and involve them in the process. Individuals and groups participating in a neighborhood revitalization effort will find these four neighborhood revitalization planning tools useful for planning the many tasks involved in developing and launching the revitalization process. Included are the following four tools: a list of potential partners and their likely roles, a list of criteria for selecting a target neighborhood, a template of a notification letter that should be mailed to all residents and property owners in the target neighborhood, and an example of a timeline of activities related to this type of project.
