The University of Iowa, Department of Pediatric Dentistry has available a tooth brushing protocol for those child care providers working with children 3-5 years of age.  The protocol instructs child care providers on when to brush children’s teeth, how often to brush, where to brush, hygiene and storage of toothbrushes, and the how to dispense toothpaste.
