Parks, zoos, and gardens all offer many opportunities for children to explore plants, animals, weather, colors, sights, and sounds. This article suggests how parents could help their children enjoy rich learning experiences by safely exploring the outdoors.



From the first hour of life, when a baby stares into the eyes of his new parents, he is learning all about this brave new world. Babies try to make sense of what they see, touch, taste, grab, hear, hold, and squeeze.
