Play is a set of behaviors that are freely chosen, personally directed, and intrinsically motivated. But the reality is that few of today’s children are allowed out to play freely as earlier generations were. Many have little experience with play and don't know how to get started when given a chance. Parents want children to play freely with some adult support.
