In the aftermath of the tornadoes that devastated several communities over the weekend, we are deeply concerned about the safety and well-being of all of you who may have been impacted by the storms.
The Office of Head Start (OHS) will continue our efforts to support each of you during this time of adversity. The Central Office Disaster Recovery Team has been in contact with Regional Offices to assist with your program recovery. Please send your questions related to general disaster recovery flexibilities and ACF-IM-HS-19-01 to OHSDisasterRecovery at acf dot hhs dot gov.
OHS can also provide support and technical training assistance in several areas, including the home-based model, curriculum fidelity and implementation, coaching, community needs assessment, and culture of safety. Please stay in communication with your program specialist to keep them informed on your recovery efforts and any assistance you may need. Additional resources and support are available on the Early Childhood Learning and Knowledge Center (ECLKC) website.
Explore the Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Recovery resource collection for regulations and guidance, program and family resources, and additional support.
Although this will be a tough journey of healing and rebuilding, please know your OHS family stands with you every step of the way. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you in the days to come.
