Tax Time Checklist: Prepare for Tax Season

Share this checklist with families in your program to help them gather the information they need to file their 2022 taxes. This can help them avoid multiple trips to their tax preparer.

Partnering with Families to Access Benefits Through the American Rescue Plan

The American Rescue Plan (ARP) provides many sources of direct and indirect financial relief for low-income families. Head  Start programs can help all staff and families access  critical supports for which they’re eligible. These payments and tax credits don’t affect family income  in determining eligibility for Head Start and Early Head Start programs or count towards adjusted gross income for tax filers. Encourage families to file a 2020 tax return, if they haven’t already done so, to receive available credits.

Family Well-being: Strategies to Support Family Safety, Health, and Financial Stability

Safety, health, and financial stability are key to family well-being. Explore ways program staff can  promote and support family well-being.
