Disabilities Services Newsletters

The Head Start Disabilities Services Newsletter is produced monthly by the National Center on Early Childhood Development, Teaching, and Learning (NCECDTL).

Session 1: Preschool Inclusion: Laying the Groundwork for Success

This session is intended to lay the groundwork for successful inclusion in preschool. After viewing the video, Preschool Inclusion: Working Together to Make It Happen, participants will explore and discuss how families and service providers can effectively work together to create and support inclusive experiences for preschool-age children who have disabilities.

Session 4: Getting Services Started

Using the video Getting Services, this session reviews the processes of early identification; referral to early intervention to determine eligibility for Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C services; and support to families who are accessing services.

Highly Individualized Teaching and Learning

These 15-minute In-service Suites are a professional development resource for staff in busy, active early childhood centers and programs. They are organized around one topic or big idea and address effective teaching and assessment practices.
