Setting Up for an IEP Meeting
Lindsey: Oh, hey, Shauna! How are you doing? Shauna: Nice to see you again! Lindsey: You too! Shauna: I'm good! Lindsey: I'm really excited to get to know Nathaniel, he sounds like a great kid.
Shauna: Oh, he is, he's a --he's a really cool kid. We've got his portfolio pictures and whatnot, his picture... Lindsey: Oh good! Shauna: ... so I'm excited, I'm really happy that both parents were able to take off to come in too. Lindsey: Yeah, no kidding! And I just called everybody and I did a reminder call yesterday and all the IEP people are coming today.
Shauna: Oh, great! Lindsey: So everyone will be here. Shauna: So there's going to be like... eleven.. twelve? Lindsey: Yes, eleven. Shauna: There should be enough chairs... okay, that should be good.
Lindsey: Good. So maybe.. let's.. should we hang up some of those pictures, they'd look great in here! Shauna: Yeah! Lindsey: I'll hang this one up. Shauna: I brought some pens and paper too in case people wanna take notes or..
Lindsey: Oooh... good idea. good good.
Shauna: ... with you. I'm gonna put those out... set those right here, and some highlighters, just in case, just in case...
Lindsey: Oh, there'll be a lot of paperwork today, because the psychologist is coming. She's able to stop by for a little bit to talk about the report that you received earlier that I've looked over. Shauna: That's good. I was hoping she'd be able to come.
Lindsey: How cute! Shauna: Well, we've got these handouts, um, that talk about Nathaniel so I looked at everybody...
Lindsey: Oh good! Great! Shauna: so they kinda get to know them. Lindsey: Yeah, that sounds great, they'll like that.
Good! And so everything worked out with Tracy being able to watch Nathaniel during this time?
Shauna: Yes, yes, it really worked, she was not having to go right away and so she'll be here, no problem. Lindsey: Okay, good. That'll be fun for him to be by himself in the classroom for a little bit, run around ... Shauna: special attention. yeah right! [laughter]
Lindsey: And the parents have, I heard you say that... Carmell.. that there was about an hour and a half? Shauna: About an hour and a half, and they did ask if they could bring a family friend, so they're going to bring a family friend with them... Lindsey: Perfect! Shauna: and, um, you know, I'm going to be here, and Kelly's gonna be here, so it's just going to be like ...
Lindsey: Oh good! We're gonna.. that's why our meeting's going to be so big. This will be nice!
