On Aug. 21, 2024, the Office of Head Start (OHS) updated the Head Start Program Performance Standards (the Performance Standards) to respond to concerns affecting the sustainability of Head Start programs. The changes are designed to stabilize the Head Start workforce and improve the quality of the comprehensive services that Head Start families count on. OHS has introduced the Nurturing the Promise campaign to support Head Start staff in addressing these changes to the Performance Standards.
