FY 2017 Head Start Monitoring Protocols

Head Start monitoring protocols are used by the Office of Head Start (OHS) to gather data during review events. These instruments are used to gather information to assess core performance areas of Head Start and Early Head Start grantees. Reviews are held for the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS®), Early Head Start-Child Care Partnerships (EHS-CCP), and Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance (ERSEA). OHS uses the information to determine program strengths, concerns, areas of noncompliance, and deficiencies.
