Thank you for joining our Block Party!
In celebration of 50 years of Head Start, the Office of Head Start (OHS) coordinated a national block party. It was held on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015. Head Start programs across the country held "block parties" to honor the families, staff members, volunteers, community partners, and other key stakeholders. OHS broadcasted a short national message by Head Start leadership and special guests during the Fall Festival at the Campagna Center Head Start and Early Head Start program in Alexandria, VA. The national Anniversary Celebration Broadcast highlighted Head Start milestones and our ongoing successes. Across the nation, programs tuned in during their local 50th anniversary event.

Show Off Your Blocks!
Head Start programs and regional offices showed off their blocks in many ways during the various block parties—as flags, t-shirts, buttons, and posters.
Here were some of the ideas used to show off the Head Start blocks:
- Creating flags to wave (Hand flag templates) [PDF, 290KB].
- Printing the Head Start logo on a full size flag.
- Having a bakery print the logo onto a cake.
In general, Head Start grantees may use the Head Start logo on materials they produce. Please ensure the version you use has the registered trademark symbol (®). Furthermore, the logo should not be distorted in any way or integrated into other graphics. Download the Head Start 50th anniversary logo in high resolution.
