The Head Start Migrant & Seasonal Visiting Teacher Project
The Visiting Teacher Project is a network between credentialed Migrant and Seasonal Head Start (MSHS) teachers who are dedicated to keeping classroom doors open for MSHS children, and MSHS grantees who are looking for qualified teachers. These teachers are willing to temporarily relocate and work in other MSHS programs during their own programs' "off season."
MSHS teacher interested in joining the Visiting Teacher Project may fill out an application form. The form includes background information about their current program, availability, education, and Spanish and English language skills. It also asks about temporary travel and housing preferences. Please note that all applicants must meet the teaching and credentialing requirements outlined in the Head Start Act.
Teacher profiles will be posted in a forum accessible to MSHS grantee directors who can browse profiles by availability date, credential, and location. They will contact applicant teachers that meet their needs using the email address and telephone number they have provided.
Teachers who need to update their form can type their modifications in Contact Us adding their name, email address, and phone number that were originally used when completing the form. For attachment updates, they have to complete a new form.
