This website provides resources on the poverty guidelines how they are measured, definition, development of poverty threshold, alternative methods of poverty threshold. Grantees will find this information helpful when using and understanding poverty guidelines to make decision regarding the eligibility of their clients.

The poverty thresholds are the original version of the federal poverty measure. They are updated each year by the Census Bureau. The thresholds are used mainly for statistical purposes — e.g., preparing estimates of the number of Americans in poverty each year. View the website »
