About the Conference

About the Conference

The 2017 Office of Head Start Leadership Institute will take place at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, IL on April 6 and 7, 2017. The two-day Institute will focus primarily on the Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS). Building on the success of the previous OHS Leadership Institutes in 2011 and 2013, the sessions will target program leadership's role in understanding and implementing the HSPPS with their staff, governing body, and parents.

The conference program will be planned and presented by OHS and the National Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) Centers. They offer expertise in key areas of interest and target audience needs. The program will include a solid foundational approach to early childhood development, teaching, and learning, and offer insight on managing comprehensive programs.
