The Age Discrimination Act

The Age Discrimination Act does not allow for discrimination on the basis of age in any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. Grantees and delegate agencies will find this law important when drawing up their program’s personnel policies and procedures.

The following is an excerpt from the HHS Grants Policy Statement.

The Age Discrimination Act of 1975, 42 U.S.C. 6101 et seq., prohibits discrimination on the basis of age in any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. The HHS implementing regulations are codified at 45 CFR part 91.
