Southwestern Community Services (SCS) Head Start is a federally funded early childhood education program comprised of five NAEYC-accredited centers designed to promote school readiness. SCS Head Start preschools provide comprehensive early childhood services for children of income-eligible families in both Cheshire and Sullivan counties.
The Full-Time Teacher Assistant (FTTA), under the direction of the Teacher, is responsible first for ensuring the safety of all children. The FTTA will create a warm, caring, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for all preschool children. The FTTA will practice intentionality in their individual and whole group lesson planning when implementing the Creative Curriculum and when using the TS GOLD® child assessment to fidelity. They will use the TS GOLD® data to facilitate a learning environment that meets children’s individual needs. In collaboration with the Teacher, the FTTA will prepare lesson plans and assist with their implementation in the classroom.

This position is full-time during the school year (Aug-June) with summers off.

Pay: $16.21 - $20.53 per hour

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of an associate degree in ECE or an associate degree in a related field with 12 credits related to Early Childhood Education and at least 3 credits in child growth and development. (Must be able to produce documentation of education before start interview.)
- Must pass fingerprinting and criminal record check before hire.
- Classroom experience with pre-school children (Head Start experience preferred).
