This is a Full-Time, Non-Civil Service position with medical, dental, vision, and other benefits at Metro Action Commission. The Finance Officer 1 works under the direct supervision of the Chief Finance Officer and will perform entry-level, professional, and analytical work involved in the field of finance and administration. Uphold the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the Metro Action Commission including exemplary internal and external customer service, teamwork and treatment of all persons with respect, dignity and compassion.
Typical Duties:
- Perform routine duties required to process fund accounting transactions in the accounting department
- Process accounts payable transactions and payroll time entry for agency-wide staff
- Perform routine professional accounting duties along with duties associated with month-end close
- Process general ledger accounting transactions, including preparing journal entries
- Prepare grant fund reimbursement billings and quarterly reports for state, federal and private grantors
- Prepare monthly, budget vs. actual reports and other financial reports as assigned
- Research and resolve accounting problems
- Prepare or oversee preparation of payrolls
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited college/university and five years of experience working in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Valid Driver License

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Grant accounting experience
- Computer literate in Excel and Microsoft Word
- Knowledge of methods, practices, and terminology used in general and/or grant accounting environment
