PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist team in the delivery of high-quality infant, toddler, and preschool services as defined by the Head Start Performance Standards, State Licensing Rules, program work plans, and program goals. Assist with day-to-day operations of the classroom, serving children ages six-weeks to five and their families. Maintain quality environments with attention to safety and health prevention measures.

CLASSROOM/EDUCATION
• Ensure children are supervised at all times and maintain appropriate ratios and group sizes.
• Support team in providing high quality responsive care, effective teaching practices, and an organized learning environment, with positive guidance strategies to support social-emotional growth and development.
• Support team in providing quality, developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor learning experiences.
• Support in ensuring all children spaces and materials are age-appropriate and responsive to interests, culturally and linguistically appropriate, and include accommodations to meet all children’s needs.
• Possess and demonstrate strong working knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, South Coast Head Start Policies and Procedures, and other regulations.
• Support team in utilizing program curriculum to fidelity, which encompasses creating and implementing weekly lesson plans that incorporates group and individual goals based on assessment data and school readiness goals.
• Track daily attendance for each child and implement program attendance follow-up procedures, as assigned.
• Support team in delivery of appropriate services to children with IFSP/IEP’s.
• Assist Teacher in completing screenings and assessments, as assigned.
• Perform teacher job duties in the temporary absence of the Teacher Assistant.
• Complete additional tasks and job duties, as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (in order of preference):
• Current Infant/Toddler or Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) with direct experience teaching infant, toddler, or preschool children; or Oregon Registry Step 7 with direct experience teaching infant, toddler, or preschool children
Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent; and would be required to be actively working towards an ORO Step 7 or enrolled in Infant/Toddler or Preschool Childhood Development Associate (CDA) credential.
Additional competencies/preferences:
• Paid experience working with infants/toddlers or preschool age children.
