Position: Family Support Coach
Reports to: SFP Coordinator
Location: West Main, Rapid City, SD
Work Schedule: Hours/Week: 40 Must work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Essential Functions: Provide intensive support services to families. Provide families with strategies to improve current level of functioning and decrease negative behavior as well as one-on-one mentoring, may include tutoring and skill development for families. Maintain a working knowledge of the needs of the client, and the ability to be responsive to those needs, including mentoring and role modeling for family functioning. Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of and good working relationships with community agencies and schools serving clients. Provide individual and group facilitation to meet the case plan objectives. Submit required monthly reports to supervisor. Assist with preparation of quarterly reports to ACF. Preserve confidentiality of referral information and requests for assistance. Maintain fidelity of the program. Assist with data collection, including Applicant Characteristics, Performance Measures, local evaluation measures and stories. Enter program operations, enrollment, and participation data in nFORM as needed.
Additional Functions: Serve as a member of the staffing team to assess the education, health, nutrition, family services, economic, and disability needs of each participant. Attend meetings of community agencies that act as resources for families in need. Cultivate and maintain community resources to assist program participants. Promote and support all programs and services of YFS. Provide training to staff as requested by supervisor. Perform all other tasks as directed by supervisor. Act in accordance with YFS' purpose, philosophy, values, goals, policies and procedures.
Environmental Functions: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in social sciences, education or related field and two (2) years of experience. Personal vehicle with current liability insurance and a valid driver’s license required. Transport children as assigned and be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with performance standards and the Substance Abuse/Misuse Policy for Safety Sensitive Positions and Employees Driving Children. Effective networking with community resources, computer/word-processing skills, good interpersonal skills. Punctuality, dependability and flexibility.
