The Pyramid Model provides a tiered intervention framework for promoting the social, emotional, and behavioral development of young children. This fact sheet describes the three tiers of intervention practice:
- Universal promotion for all children
- Secondary preventions to address the intervention needs for children at risk for social and emotional delays
- Tertiary interventions needed for children with persistent challenges
It also outlines six key assumptions to consider when implementing this Model. The fact sheet may serve as a guide for early care teachers and administrators when assembling resources to promote the social and emotional well-being of children in classrooms, programs, and communities.
