Breastfeeding Practices: Results from the National Immunization Survey

The National Immunization survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) includes data on national breastfeeding rates for infants born from 2000 to 2009. Program staff and pregnant women may use this information to learn about breastfeeding trends in the United States.

These data reflect interviews conducted from 2000 to 2009 with caregivers of 19- to 35-month-old U.S. children who were born from 2000-2009. Interviews with caregivers of children born in 2009 will continue through December 2012. Final data for children born in 2009 will be available in August 2013.
