Children use all their senses to learn. Playing with puzzles, crayons, balls, and blocks can improve important visual skills. These skills contribute to a child’s school readiness. An uncorrected vision problem can be a barrier to this readiness. Timely vision screening, coupled with an eye examination when indicated, is an important step toward early detection of any possible vision problems. Early detection also can lead to effective intervention and restore proper vision.
