ZERO TO THREE, on behalf of the National Center on Early Childhood Development, Teaching, and Learning (NCECDTL) and our vendors, respect your privacy and personal information. Personal information is collected by contacting us via phone, email, or through the Text4Teacher page on the Early Childhood Learning and Knowledge Center (ECLKC). Personal information means any information: (i) that identifies or can be used to identify, contact, or locate the person to whom such information pertains, or (ii) from which identification or contact information of an individual person can be derived. Personal information includes, but is not limited to, first and last names, phone numbers, and in some cases, email addresses. In providing the Service, we receive personal information from you and we may send personal information to you.
In connection with the Service we provide, we may ask you to provide your zip code, mobile number, and email address to troubleshoot any issues you might have with the service and to personalize the service information for you. By giving us this information, you are giving us your consent to use your personal information as set forth in this Policy.
We may use your personal information to:
- Provide you with the Service
- Personalize the Service
- Provide customer support
- Take actions to help us obey laws or stop fraud and abuse
- Take actions to enforce our agreements and policies
- Manage our operations
We maintain personally identifiable information (PII) associated with your account so that (a) your account may be reactivated, and (b) we may use the data for internal evaluation purposes to learn from and improve upon the program. Unless you advise us otherwise, your PII will be maintained for eight years for the purpose for which it was collected.
We restrict access to PII to those employees within NCECDTL and our affiliates, including the Department of Health and Human Services and vendors, on a need-to-know basis in order to resolve problems with the Service, provide customer support, or to address suspected violations of the Terms and Conditions of the Service. We require each of our employees, consultants, and independent contractors to sign confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements. We also instruct them on how to properly secure PII. We may, on occasion, hire other companies to provide a part of the Service on our behalf. If any such entity has access to personal information, we require them to sign confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements and prohibit their use of such information beyond the Service they are providing on our behalf.
You have a right to request a copy of your personal information. Your personal information will be provided to you within 30 days of our receipt of your request. You also have a right to request that we delete any PII that we store and we shall delete it within 90 days of our receipt of your request. Disclosures Required by Law
We may access and disclose personal information if required by law or in our good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (i) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on us, or (ii) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of our Service or members of the public. To the extent practicable and legally permitted, we will attempt to advise you prior to any such disclosure so that you may seek a protective order or other relief limiting such disclosure.
